mcpsearchconsole vs Advanced GSC

Pick Advanced GSC if you want Search Console plus GA4, SERP lookups, keyword research and (on Max) backlinks and a site crawl behind one hosted connector, from the author of the open-source mcp-gsc, at $15 to $105 a month. Pick Search Console MCP if Search Console is what you need, and you want a free plan with published limits, Solo at €4.99 a month, or one flat €29.99 a month for everyone at your company.

Setup compared

Both are hosted, so neither needs a Google Cloud project, Python or a config file. Setup is a sign-in either way; the difference is whether you choose a plan first.

Advanced GSC, per its MCP page on 2 October 2026:

  1. Sign in with Google (about 30 seconds, as stated). The Search Console permission is requested during this sign-in.
  2. Pick a plan and your properties (about a minute). Your plan sets how many properties can be active at once.
  3. Connect your AI (about 30 seconds). One click for Claude.ai, ChatGPT and Claude Desktop; a short paste for Cursor, Windsurf, Zed and Codex, each with a walkthrough video.

Search Console MCP, the hosted Google Search Console MCP server:

  1. Add https://mcpsearchconsole.com/mcp as a connector in your AI client (in claude.ai it is "Add custom connector"; in ChatGPT it needs Developer mode).
  2. Sign in with Google and approve the read-only Search Console permission.
  3. Ask a question.

There is no plan to choose before your first answer: the free plan starts automatically. Advanced GSC's one-click ChatGPT route is smoother than our Developer mode connector; on the other hand, it asks you to pick a plan up front.

What each can do that the other cannot

What Advanced GSC can do that Search Console MCP cannot

  • GA4 in the same connector. From Pro ($40 a month), it reads up to 10 Google Analytics 4 properties alongside Search Console. We cover Search Console only, so you would add a separate GA4 connector.
  • SERP and keyword data. Every plan includes SERP lookups and keyword research (100 a month on Starter, 300 on Pro, 1,000 on Max). Search Console only reports queries you already appear for; this shows the wider market.
  • Backlinks and a crawl on Max. Max adds a backlink toolkit (250 a month), an on-page and technical SEO crawl, competitor keyword gaps and Core Web Vitals benchmarking against competitors.
  • Extras around the data. A schema validator (with JavaScript rendering on Pro and Max), a Google algorithm update tracker, a prompt library and, on Pro, a video academy.
  • Several Google accounts. Max connects up to three Google accounts. We use the one Google account you sign in with.
  • Windsurf and Zed have their own setup walkthroughs. They are not on our tested list, though any remote MCP client can connect to us.

Its creator, Amin Foroutan, also maintains the open-source mcp-gsc, and says each round is kept to 100 people so feature requests and bug fixes get his direct attention. If you value that kind of access to the developer, it is a real reason to choose it.

What Search Console MCP can do that Advanced GSC cannot

  • A free plan with published limits. 15 data pulls a day, 40 a month, 3 properties, with no end date. Advanced GSC offers "a limited free version" but does not state its limits on the page.
  • Cover a whole company for one price. Team is €29.99 a month for everyone on your company domain, with shared notes. Advanced GSC's page does not describe team or multi-user plans.
  • Read-only by default, stated. We ask Google for the read-only Search Console scope; sitemap submission needs a separate opt-in. Advanced GSC says permissions are requested at sign-in and tokens are encrypted at rest, but does not state the scope.
  • Ranked analysis in one call. search_insights returns striking-distance queries, low-CTR pages, cannibalization and the biggest movers in one data pull.
  • Notes that persist. Save a migration date or brand terms once and the next conversation reads them.
  • Grok Bot and Mistral Vibe are on our list of tested clients; they are not named on Advanced GSC's page.
  • No waiting list. Sign-up is open; Advanced GSC sells seats in rounds of 100.

Where they match

Both read live data from the same Search Console API (Advanced GSC's page says your AI "pulls live data from Search Console and GA4"), so clicks, impressions and positions match for the same filters, and live reads go back only as far as the 16 months Google keeps.

Cost over a year

Both are subscriptions, so the yearly cost is the monthly price times twelve. Prices below were read on 2 October 2026; ours exclude VAT and Advanced GSC's exclude tax. Advanced GSC prices are in US dollars and ours in euros, so compare at your own exchange rate.

PlanMonthly12 months
Search Console MCP Free€0€0, within 40 data pulls a month
Search Console MCP Solo€4.99€59.88
Search Console MCP Team (whole company domain)€29.99€359.88
Advanced GSC Starter (3 properties)$15$180, or $153 billed quarterly (15% off)
Advanced GSC Pro (10 GSC + 10 GA4)$40$480, or $408 billed quarterly
Advanced GSC Max (unlimited, fair use)$105$1,260, or $1,071 billed quarterly

The fair comparison depends on what you would use. For Search Console alone, set Solo against Starter: €59.88 against $180 a year, and Solo has no property limit. If you need GA4, SERP and keyword data as well, Pro bundles them; pricing our Solo plus separate tools for those sources may come to more. Advanced GSC says its round-two prices stay fixed while you remain subscribed. Our plan details are on the pricing page.

How to switch

From Advanced GSC to Search Console MCP

  1. Add https://mcpsearchconsole.com/mcp as a connector and sign in with the same Google account that has your properties.
  2. Ask "list my Search Console properties" to confirm access.
  3. Remove the Advanced GSC connector from your AI client, so the AI does not pick between two sets of similar tools.
  4. Cancel your Advanced GSC plan from its dashboard (it stays active to the end of the billing period, per its FAQ) and revoke its access in your Google account's third-party connections.

Plain-language prompts carry over. If you relied on GA4, SERP or backlink tools, keep a separate connector for those.

From Search Console MCP to Advanced GSC

  1. Sign up on Advanced GSC, pick a plan and properties, and connect your AI client.
  2. Copy anything you saved with add_note (ask "list my notes"), since notes live on our server.
  3. Remove our connector, cancel any paid plan from your account page, and revoke our access in your Google account.
