mcpsearchconsole vs Composio
Pick Composio if Search Console is one of many apps you want behind one connector or one API key, especially if you are building your own agent: its free plan includes 100,000 tool calls a month and it plugs into Claude, ChatGPT and more than 20 agent frameworks. Pick Search Console MCP if you want a server built only for Search Console, with ranked SEO analysis, site checks and a read-only permission by default.

Setup compared
Both are hosted, so neither needs a Google Cloud project or anything on your computer. Composio adds an account layer: you connect Composio to your AI, and Composio to Google.
Composio in Claude, per its Claude guide on 2 October 2026 (manual route):
- In Claude, open Customize, then Connectors.
- Click the plus icon.
- Choose "Add custom connector".
- Paste
https://connect.composio.dev/mcp. - Click Connect and authorise Composio in your browser.
- Ask for a Search Console task; the first time, you authorise Google through Composio.
Its "Add to Claude" button pre-fills the connector, cutting this to a couple of clicks. In ChatGPT you can install the Composio plugin or add the same URL as an MCP server. Developers building their own agent follow a longer route: create a .env with a Composio API key, install @composio/core, run a script that generates a session MCP URL, then add it with the API key as a header (10 steps in its Claude Code guide, including installing Claude Code).
Search Console MCP, the hosted Google Search Console MCP server:
- Add
https://mcpsearchconsole.com/mcpas a connector in your AI client (in ChatGPT it needs Developer mode). - Sign in with Google and approve the read-only Search Console permission.
- Ask a question.
Composio's ChatGPT plugin is a smoother route than our Developer mode connector. Ours involves one account fewer.
What each can do that the other cannot
What Composio can do that Search Console MCP cannot
- Many apps behind one connector. Search Console is one toolkit among hundreds (Gmail, Slack, GitHub, Notion and more). If your agent already uses Composio, Search Console is one more app to authorise.
- Build your own agent. Its SDK and integrations for the OpenAI and Claude Agents SDKs, LangChain, CrewAI and Pydantic AI suit developers who want Search Console inside their own product or workflow. We are a connector for AI clients, not a developer platform.
- Manage properties. Its toolkit includes Add Site and Delete Site. We have no property-management tools.
- A large free allowance. 100,000 tool calls a month on the free Hobby plan, against our 40 data pulls a month free.
- Team and governance features. Pro adds unlimited team members, a read-only dashboard role, spend controls and a DPA; Enterprise adds SSO, SCIM and customer-managed keys.
What Search Console MCP can do that Composio cannot
- Ranked SEO analysis.
search_insightsreturns striking-distance queries, low-CTR pages, cannibalization and the biggest movers already scored. Composio's toolkit returns raw analytics rows through Search Analytics Query, for your AI to analyse. - Site checks. PageSpeed and Core Web Vitals, DNS, redirect chains, robots.txt and TLS certificates. Composio's Search Console toolkit has nine tools, none of these.
- Read-only by default. We ask Google for the read-only scope; sitemap writes need an opt-in. Composio's page does not state the scope it requests, but Google's API only allows adding and deleting sites with the full Search Console permission, so expect a broader grant.
- Notes that persist, shared across your company on Team.
- Grok Bot and Mistral Vibe are on our tested client list; Composio's toolkit page does not name them.
- One fewer account. Your Google sign-in is the account; no platform account or API key sits in between.
What neither does
Neither stores Search Console history beyond Google's 16 months, tracks SERP rankings or reports backlinks. Both read the same Search Console API, so the numbers match.
Cost over a year
Both are subscriptions with free tiers, so the yearly cost is the monthly price times twelve. Prices below were read on 2 October 2026; Composio's are in US dollars and ours in euros excluding VAT.
| Plan | Monthly | 12 months | What you get |
|---|---|---|---|
| Search Console MCP Free | €0 | €0 | 15 data pulls a day, 40 a month, 3 properties |
| Search Console MCP Solo | €4.99 | €59.88 | Unlimited, one person |
| Search Console MCP Team | €29.99 | €359.88 | Everyone on your company domain |
| Composio Hobby | $0 | $0 | 100,000 tool calls a month, 3 team members, every toolkit |
| Composio Pro | $29 | $348 plus any calls beyond the allowance | Unlimited team members, $0.0003 a call over |
For Search Console alone, Composio's free plan is generous on volume. The cost difference is in what each call returns: one of our search_insights calls does analysis that, with raw rows, your AI does itself, using more of your AI plan's context. If you use Composio for other apps anyway, Search Console comes at no extra cost there. Our plan details are on the pricing page.
How to switch
From Composio to Search Console MCP
- Add
https://mcpsearchconsole.com/mcpas a connector and sign in with the Google account that has your properties. - Ask "list my Search Console properties" to confirm.
- In Composio, disconnect the Google Search Console account if you no longer need it there, and revoke Composio's Google access if nothing else uses it. Keep the Composio connector for your other apps.
Plain-language prompts carry over. If both are connected, say which you want ("use search_insights"), since the AI may otherwise pick either.
From Search Console MCP to Composio
- Add Composio to your client and authorise Google Search Console through it.
- Copy anything you saved with
add_note(ask "list my notes"). - Remove our connector, cancel any paid plan, and revoke our access in your Google account.
