mcpsearchconsole vs Windsor.ai
Pick Windsor.ai if Search Console is one source among many (ads, analytics, CRM, ecommerce) and you want them all behind one AI connection, or you want its computed fields such as branded versus non-branded queries; its forever-free plan includes MCP for one data source. Pick Search Console MCP if Search Console is what you want to ask about and you want more of it: URL inspection, sitemaps, ranked SEO analysis and site checks, read-only by default, from free to €4.99 a month.

Setup compared
Both are hosted remote servers, so nothing runs on your computer.
Windsor.ai, following its Search Console MCP page as of 2 October 2026:
- Register or log in to Windsor.ai.
- Choose Google Search Console as a data source and grant Windsor.ai access.
- Connect Windsor MCP to your AI. In Claude it is in the connector directory; elsewhere you add
https://mcp.windsor.ai/. Its server supports the MCP OAuth flow, or a Windsor API key for clients that only take keys. - Ask about your Search Console data.
Windsor says "Connect data in 2 minutes. No code required."
Search Console MCP, the hosted Google Search Console MCP server:
- Add
https://mcpsearchconsole.com/mcpas a connector in your AI client (in claude.ai it is "Add custom connector"; in ChatGPT it needs Developer mode). - Sign in with Google and approve the read-only Search Console permission.
- Ask a question.
What each can do that the other cannot
What Windsor.ai can do that Search Console MCP cannot
- Join Search Console with everything else. With Google Ads, Meta Ads, GA4, HubSpot or Shopify connected, one conversation can ask which landing pages earn organic clicks but convert poorly from paid traffic. We only read Search Console and public site checks.
- Computed fields. Windsor adds
branded_vs_nonbranded,words_in_query,position_pageand URL path levels (pathlevel1topathlevel4) that the raw API does not offer, and lets you create custom fields. - Act on ads. Its MCP page lists write actions for Meta Ads and Google Ads, such as pausing campaigns, setting budgets and pushing negative keywords. That is outside what a Search Console server does.
- More AI clients. Copilot, Gemini and Perplexity are on its list and not on ours.
What Search Console MCP can do that Windsor.ai cannot
- More of Search Console. Besides performance data we have URL inspection (index status, last crawl, canonical), sitemap status and errors, and opt-in sitemap submission. Windsor's Search Console MCP page describes metrics and dimensions and does not mention inspection or sitemaps.
- Ranked SEO analysis in one call.
search_insightsreturns striking-distance queries, low-CTR pages, cannibalization and the biggest movers already scored. Windsor returns fields and leaves the analysis to the model. - Site checks. DNS, redirect chains, robots.txt, TLS certificates and PageSpeed with Core Web Vitals.
- Notes. Context such as a migration date is saved and read back in later conversations, and shared with everyone on your company domain on Team.
- A narrow, read-only permission. We ask Google for read-only Search Console access and nothing else. If your policy is that an AI connector must not be able to change anything, a server with ad write actions needs more care to set up.
Neither tracks SERP rankings, backlinks or keyword volumes, and both read the same Search Console API, so the base numbers match.
Cost over a year
Prices below were read on 2 October 2026 and exclude VAT. The currencies differ. Windsor's pricing page says "Access to Windsor MCP for AI analysis" is included on all plans, and its Search Console MCP page says the same of the free plan, so the two agree.
| Option | What you get | 12 months |
|---|---|---|
| Search Console MCP Free | 15 data pulls a day, 40 a month, 3 properties | €0 |
| Search Console MCP Solo | Unlimited data pulls and properties | €59.88 |
| Search Console MCP Team | Everyone on your company domain, shared notes | €359.88 |
| Windsor.ai Forever Free | 1 user, 1 data source, 1 account (after a 30-day trial with more) | $0 |
| Windsor.ai Basic | 3 data sources, 75 accounts | $228 billed annually, $276 monthly |
| Windsor.ai Standard | 7 data sources, 75 accounts | $1,188 billed annually, $1,416 monthly |
For one Search Console property, both free plans cost nothing; on ours you get inspection, sitemaps and the analysis recipes within the monthly allowance, on Windsor's you get its computed fields. Once you need several marketing sources in one place, Windsor's paid plans buy something we do not offer, and the fair comparison is with running separate tools. Our plans are on the pricing page.
How to switch
From Windsor.ai to Search Console MCP
- Add
https://mcpsearchconsole.com/mcpas a connector in your AI client and sign in with the Google account that has your properties. - Ask "list my Search Console properties" to confirm access.
- If you keep Windsor.ai for other sources, tell your AI to use Search Console MCP for Search Console questions. If you used it only for Search Console, remove its connector and the Search Console data source in Windsor.ai.
For branded_vs_nonbranded prompts, save your brand terms as a note so the AI can split queries itself.
From Search Console MCP to Windsor.ai
- Create a Windsor.ai account, add Search Console (and any other sources), then connect Windsor MCP to your AI.
- Copy any notes you saved with us (ask "list my notes").
- Remove our connector, cancel any paid plan from your account page and revoke our access in your Google account.
